The fully electric hypercar Lotus Emeya has successfully completed all tests. Having recently completed the challenging winter tests, deliveries of the Lotus Emeya will begin very soon.

Lotus engineers continued their validation work throughout the winter, with the fully electric hyper GT being tested in the town of Ivalo, Finland. As temperatures in the Arctic Circle dropped to as low as -25 degrees Celsius in recent weeks, the test team placed the vehicle in a local automotive ‘freezer’ to test it down to -40 degrees Celsius.

Lotus has not yet shared any official technical data regarding the Emeya, but they claim that the vehicle will be similar to Lotus’s first all-electric model, the Eletre. This suggests that the Lotus Emeya will offer a range of up to 700 kilometers. Production of the Emeya, similar to the Eletre, will take place at the factory in Wuhan, China. This factory is owned by the Chinese company Geely, which has recently been making headlines. Geely will produce Lotus’s electric models.

When Emeya is released this year, Lotus will continue its journey towards this goal. Emeya, the automaker’s first four-door coupe, boasts a 0-100 km/h acceleration time of just 2.8 seconds. Deliveries of the Lotus Emeya in China are expected to begin next month.
