Hyundai has announced the details of the Hyundai ST1, the first commercial electric vehicle initiative on the EV platform.
Hyundai Motor has unveiled its new electric commercial vehicle. According to the company, the Hyundai ST1 is a business platform vehicle that is optimized and expandable for its intended use based on the chassis cab.
The front end of the Hyundai ST1 resembles the Hyundai Staria, while the rear can be modified to focus on small businesses and urban transportation. It will have a 1.6-liter four-cylinder gasoline engine combined with an electric motor and hybrid features.
Designed with safety and practicality in mind, the front end of the ST1 commercial vehicle is positioned so that approximately half of the hood protrudes forward. This is intended to increase stability by absorbing impact in the event of a collision. The vehicle’s ground clearance has been reduced to allow easy access to underground parking lots and to maximize cargo capacity.
Hyundai Motor also said it made it easier for workers to load and unload cargo. The use of an aerodynamic roof spoiler improves aerodynamic performance by perfectly combining the tailgate with the cargo area.
The model, whose technical details and price have not yet been announced, is expected to hit the roads at the end of the year.
