BYD, Yangwang’s luxury electric car brand, unveiled the BYD Yangwang U9, an all-electric supercar that can dance. After the U8 that can swim, the U9 that can dance made a dazzling debut. The U9 made its debut at a launch event in Shanghai.
The U9 is equipped with BYD DiSus-X, the most advanced body control system launched by Chinese automaker BYD in April 2023. The DiSus-X system provides an extraordinary experience by unleashing Yangwang’s abilities such as dancing and jumping. These abilities can even be experienced while driving. The system can also adjust the suspension level of the vehicle up to a maximum of 75 mm.
Built on an 800V high-voltage platform, the U9 is equipped with four engines with a total power of 960kW and a power of 240kW each. The U9 delivers an impressive 1306 hp and 1680 Nm of torque, accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.3 seconds. Yangwang officials said the vehicle offers superior performance compared to models with 12-cylinder engines.
Equipped with an 80 kWh blade battery, the vehicle offers a range of up to 450 kilometers (CLTC). In terms of charging, the vehicle comes with a system equipped with two charging guns that support simultaneous charging. Thanks to this system, the U9 can be charged from 30 percent to 80 percent in just 10 minutes. The top speed of the Yangwang U9 is set at 309 km/h.
Yangwang offers a 6-year or 150,000 km vehicle warranty for the U9, as well as a lifetime warranty on the battery, engine and electronic controls for the first owner of the vehicle. The super electric car has a starting price of $233,500.
