BYD’s luxury electric car brand Yangwang shared details about the dancing supercar BYD Yangwang U9. Following the amphibious U8, the dancing U9 from BYD’s Yangwang brand is also noteworthy for its performance.
Yangwang announced that it will release the U9 model on February 25. The U9, which stands out with its jumping, spinning, and bouncing features, can almost dance. With the DiSus-X body control system, the car achieves 0-100 km/h in just 2 seconds, indicating that the U9 is a serious performance beast.
Yangwang BYD’s luxury-class electric car brand, was launched in January 2023. Following the flagship amphibious U8 model, the U9, the second car in the lineup, seems to be one of the brand’s popular cars. Yangwang introduced the fully electric SUV, the U8, to the market in December 2023 with prices starting at 1,089,000 yuan (approximately $150,000), and it achieved sales of 1600 units in January 2024.
The Yangwang U9 supercar is equipped with four electric motors, each with 240 kW of power, providing a total power performance of 960 kW (1,287 HP). The car’s maximum speed is limited to 300 km/h. In terms of dimensions, the U9 measures 4966/2029/1295 mm (length-width-height) with a wheelbase of 2900 mm.
The interior is equipped with the classic BYD style and the futuristic vehicle features numerous physical buttons on the steering wheel. The U9 comes with three screens: a driver’s display, two small screens in front of the passengers, and a screen on the center console.
While the price of the U9 has not yet been officially announced, the launch is set for February 25, where many details including the price will be revealed.
